Sergey Sobolov, one of the Royal College of Music’s most outstanding students, will perform Karol Szymanowski’s Symphonie Concertante at this concert by the RCM Symphony Orchestra, part of the Philharmonia’s series Infernal Dance: Inside the World of Béla Bartók. Szymanowski was a Polish contemporary of Bartók, who also drew many musical influences from the traditional music of his country, developing a uniquely rhapsodic style of writing. The concert will also feature other works by Bela Bartók performed by the RCM Symphony Orchestra and conducted by Mikk Murdvee.
