This evening's concert is sponsored by United Utilities
This evening’s programme is framed by contrasting works celebrating the Czech national spirit, conducted by one of the most exciting young new conducting talents, Jakub Hrůša, who is Czech himself and a passionate advocate for the music of his homeland. Má vlast presents a vision of Czech legend, history and landscape, while Dvořák’s exuberant Symphony No. 8 is a joyous hymn to the nation, featuring scenes of pastoral life, rustic dances and birdsong.
