Elgar The Dream of Gerontius

Taken from the text of a poem by John Henry Newman, Adrian Partington conducts Elgar’s The Dream of Gerontius, which narrates one soul’s journey from his deathbed to final judgement. Alongside, is the Prelude to Wagner's last opera, Parsifal, which tells the story of the spear that pierced Christ's side on the cross and the grail of the Last Supper.
