The second of three Beethoven evenings starts with the Leonore Overture No. 2, a piece once believed to have been written as the overture to his opera Fidelio. Afterwards, Lang Lang then resumes his centre-stage position, playing Beethoven's Concertos No. 2 and No. 3. Both display Beethoven's natural flare, with the second clearly showing the influence of Mozart on the composer's work.
