Mussorgsky Pictures at an Exhibition

From paintings of gnomes, witches and medieval castles to the final pealing bells of the Great Gate of Kiev, Mussorgsky’s most famous piano work takes listeners on a musical tour of an art gallery. Alongside, RCM pianists bring to life excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s characterful pieces for each month of the year and Rachmaninov’s richly complex Etudes-tableaux.
