Christoph Altstaedt presents an evening of romantic 19th-century storytelling.The programme features two stirring symphonic poems: Siegfried Idyll composed for Wagner’s wife Cosima and Liszt’s lushly scored Les préludes. First, themes of love and heartache in one of the most popular operas of the Romantic era: Verdi’s tragic La traviata, performed by singers Anush Hovhannisyan and Stuart Jackson.
