Mahler’s Symphony No.5 is perhaps best known for its slow movement, the Adagioetto for harp and strings, a piece of made famous by Luchino Visconti's film of Death in Venice. The dark-to-light pattern from his earlier symphonies is apparent here as well - starting with a funeral march and ending with an exuberant finale.
